The Molly Maguires are a Dublin based traditional/contemporary Irish music band.
Featuring; Niall Cloak, (fiddle, banjo, guitar and vocals), Graham Mills, (guitar, vocals and bodhran), Linda Ferguson, (flute, whistles, vocals and guitar), And guest accordion player and pianist Paul French.

The band has toured extensively through Europe, Russia, North Africa, and the Middle East. The Molly Maguires have been asked to open the Saint Patrick Day celebrations in Dubai, (2012), following a successful tour of the Middle East in 2011. The band’s performance is unique; taking Irish music to new heights. The individual instruments and vocal harmonies blend and complement each other making every tune memorable. The Molly Maquires have played some of the finest venues across Ireland and around the world, making them one of Ireland’s favourite bands.

Folksmen Trad Band

The Folksmen are a highly respected Traditional Irish band. They are Dublin-based trad-folk group, featuring Dave Browne (mandolin & guitar), DaveHughes (whistles, vocals and guitar) and Gavin Carpenter (banjo). Along with guest vocalist when required Sharon O’ Brien , the band can perform a selection of traditional and contemporary Irish music and songs and providing an entertaining introduction to the origins of Irish music.

Aslan, who took their name from the heroic lion in C.S. Lewis’s series of Narnia books (Aslan is the Turkish for lion), emerged from the working class areas of Finglas and Ballymun in Dublin’s Northside in the mid 1980s. They released a demo single, ‘This Is’, in the spring of 1986, which was a huge hit and became the longest running play-listed single on Ireland’s national pop radio station 2FM. In the summer of 1986 they played a series of rapturously received shows in the UK, and Melody Maker noted, ‘Lucky the label that signs this band!’. Janice Long at BBC Radio 1 recorded Aslan in session and went on to air it an unprecedented three times over subsequent weeks.

At the end of 1986 Aslan walked away with The Stag / Hot Press,’ Most Promising New Band’ award and signed to E.M.I. In 1988 they recorded their debut album, ‘Feel No Shame’ which shot straight to No.1 in the Irish charts and stayed there for weeks, earning them a gold disc in the process. Then, in August 1988, just as the option for their 2nd album had been picked up, Aslan infamously imploded, torn apart by overindulgence of all kinds. Five years and a day to the last time they gigged together (on the 11th of July 1993) they played what was supposed to be a one-off charity gig in Finglas; the spark was re-ignited, and Aslan landed a new record deal with BMG. The first fruit of the deal, their single “Crazy World”, entered the charts at No 4. and stayed in the charts for 3 months, becoming one of the most played songs on Irish Radio that year. “Crazy World” also won “Single of The Year” in 1993′s Hot Press Awards.

A few months later their follow-up single “Where’s The Sun” reached No.3 on the chart. The latter part of 1994 was spent touring throughout Ireland and recording their album, ‘Goodbye Charlie Moonhead’, which was released in Ireland at the end of 1994 and charted at number one, going on earn them another gold disc. Then, in 1995, the band were dropped, the victims of boardroom changes at BMG. Undeterred, Aslan went into the studio under their own steam to record a new album, ‘Here Comes Lucy Jones’ in April 1996. Released in October 1997, the album entered the Irish chart at No 14, and Aslan were nominated in seven categories in the 1997 Hot Press readers’ poll. ‘Shame About Lucy Moonhead’, a compilation of the best of Aslan’s recorded work on EMI, was released in July 1998, shot into the Irish albums charts at No.1 and has since turned double platinum. In March 1999 Aslan played five sell-out shows in Ireland’s most prestigious intimate venue, Vicar Street, during which their live album and concert movie / DVD ‘Made In Dublin’ were recorded. Both shot to No.1 in their first week of release. The album turned platinum within 3 weeks, and stayed in the top 10 for 8 weeks. Aslan finished 1999 on a high note by selling out Ireland’s largest indoor venue, the 9,000 capacity Point Theatre on 26th December.

In summer 2000 Aslan toured Australia for the first time to promote the release down-under of the album ‘Shame About Lucy Moonhead’, selling out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in the process. Aslan ended 2000 by playing their first gig in the Netherlands to a sell-out crowd and then returned to home soil to sell out the Point Theatre again on Dec 27th. In the spring of 2001 Aslan recorded a single, ‘She’s So Beautiful’, (featuring Sinead O ‘Connor on backing vocals,) which entered the Irish singles chart at No.9. The band then released the follow-up ‘Different Man’ which charted at no. 7. In September 2001, the band’s most recent studio album, “Waiting For This Madness To End” went straight into the Irish Album charts at number 1, outselling the number 2 album four times over.

The following week it stayed at no.1 and kept Kylie Minogue off the top spot! “Waiting For This Madness To End” went platinum after only four weeks. At Christmas 2001 Aslan again sold out the Point Theatre, and in 2002 Aslan were nominated in eight categories of the Hot Press readers poll, demonstrating the immense following the band have in their homeland.

In October 2005 the band released a 48 track CD, simply called ‘The Platinum Collection’. The album chronicles the singles, b-sides and rarities of their long career. The Platinum Collection went into the charts at no. 3 and after a few weeks lived up to its name by achieving triple platinum sales. The same year also saw a sold-out show in the Point to mark the album’s release.

2007 was another exciting year for the band as it marked their 25 years together. With their first single “Here Comes The Sun” from their latest album “For Some Strange Reason” entering the Irish singles chart at No. 5, their second single “Jealous Little Thing” confirms their continued popularity and staying power.

If you don’t know about horse outside and the Rubberbandits then you must be dead.
Over 7 million YouTube views since December, 100,00 itunes downloads and a chorus thats ringing out in street corners from Sunset Strip to Notre Dame – “F*ck your Honda Civic, I’ve a Horse Outside”Accompanied by a video that has been at various stages the most viewed video in South Africa, the most tweeted video link in the world and the topic of op ed pieces everywhere from the New Dehli Times to CNBC to the Spectator. Horse Outside was the song that made Christmas 2010 in Ireland better than bearable .it’s one of those songs that taps into everyones inner need to sing more songs about Horses, and of course the triumph of the little guy in the nasty world of love.

The Logues

Audionetworks represents Traditional Irish Band The Logues… This is a 5 piece band made up of drums, bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, tin whistle and vocals. The Logues have been bringing their folk-rock circus to audiences throughout the north and south of Ireland and parts of the UK since 2006, when they formed for what was supposed to be a one off gig.

Since then however, the gig offers just kept coming and in the last couple of years have played at spots at various Irish festivals (Donegal Town Festival, Mary of Dungloe and the Ballyshannon Folk Festival to name but a few), performances with such bands as The Saw Doctors, The Dublin City Ramblers, Tommy Tiernan and Brendan Grace and they were even invited to be part of the official Pogues aftershow party which was held in Brixton, London at Christmas 2009. The band have just completed a series of dates in The Netherlands in mid-October and are in the early stages of planning a UK tour next summer.

In July 2011, The Logues released their debut album ‘Tough at the Bottom’, a collection of 11 original songs which is now available for download on iTunes, Amazon or to buy at their gigs.
