The Sax Sisters
A quartet with a saxy twist!
‘Sax Sisters’ is Ireland’s only all-female saxophone quartet. Whatever the occasion, the music will reflect the atmosphere and the mood of the event – from jazz to pop, classical to Looney Tunes!
This elegant ensemble of four has been thrilling audiences since they debuted at the Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland last year (2010). Whether they are filling theatres or adding an air of sophisticated elegance to corporate functions or bringing a flair of jazz to private parties, this international quartet from Poland, Holland and the UK has what it takes with their uniquely feminine musical style.
All four of these professional and very accomplished musicians have played across Europe in symphony halls and smokey jazz cellars alike, they have found a great balance between their varied classical and jazz backgrounds. Their classical repertoire belies their training in some of Europe’s finest music conservatories and they can be relied on to take the tone up a notch with their jazzy numbers. Hence, their broad repertoire reflects their versatile musical style. The resonant tones of the baritone, tenor, alto and soprano saxophones are guaranteed to create a memorable sound.
This quartet is fine-tuned, sophisticated and above all, good fun!
