The Rockets bring classic and authentic 1950s rock n roll right to your floor and it’s impossible to sit still when they’re ripping it up. The group are 5 life long musicians collectively drawn from some very popular originals bands of the last 10-15 years.

Inspired by the 1994 movie Backbeat which chronicles the Beatles heady rock n roll days playing Hamburg’s cellar clubs, the group set about creating a show which emulates this seminal period in rock history.

The Rockets play the music that inspired the Beat groups of the early Sixties, thumping out classics by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, and much more. What the audience gets is a complete show which is authentic in look and sound and crackling with live energy.

Over the past 6 years the Rockets have been constantly honing their set and sound and during that time they have been electrifying audiences at home and abroad. In 2010 and 2011 the group lit up the main stages of the Liverpool Matthew Street Music Festival, twice drawing John Lennon’s sister Julia, a director of Cavern City Tours, and hundreds of others onto the dance floor to shake, rattle and roll in electric nostalgia.

Genres, fads and decades may come and go, but the only music that ignites audiences into uncontrollable fits of movement is the original and the best; 1950s roots rock n roll.
